Colour Analysis

Why Colour Analysis Matters

Most people feel confident in only a small part of their wardrobe — not because the pieces are wrong, but because the colours don’t fully support them.

Certain shades can leave you looking washed out, emphasise redness, or dull your features, while others instantly brighten your eyes, smooth your complexion, and create a natural, lifted look.

Colour analysis removes the guesswork.
It brings clarity around the colours that harmonise with your natural colouring, helping you look fresher, more defined, and effortlessly put together — with ease.

It’s more than just a palette.

It naturally weaves into every part of your image — from hair colour and makeup to the smallest details, like your belt, shoes, or tie.

Once you discover your colours, everything begins to work in harmony. Getting dressed feels effortless, and you look polished, confident, and beautifully put together without trying.

Your wardrobe becomes timeless rather than seasonal, and you start to shop with clarity — choosing pieces more intentionally, wisely, and with lasting impact.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

  • For the best results, please come to your appointment without makeup or fake tan if you can, so that we can assess your natural skin tone clearly. Your top half will need to plain white. You will be given a white shirt or drape to wear over the top of your clothing during the session. Feel free to wear your own white top if you have one.

  • Sure, no problem. It’s really fun to watch. Please let me know in advance and I will make some extra room.

  • No, your season won’t change. Even if your skin tone deepens a little from tanning, your season won’t change. I’ll show you the colours that will suit you beautifully whether your skin is lighter or has a sun-kissed glow, so you can feel confident all year round.

  • If you have contact lenses, this is the best option. However, the most important thing is that you’re able to see clearly during your session. You’re very welcome to wear your glasses (many clients wear glasses and we still achieve the same results). I may just ask you to lower them at certain points so I can check for any subtle shifts in the colouring around your eyes.

  • Sure, you can! I have tried several, just for fun. They have sadly varied each time depending on lighting and the quality of the program used. It really is more accurate if you consult a qualified experienced consultant who has had training. Everyone’s chromatic makeup is unique. Even family members with blue eyes and brown hair will often be completely different.

  • It is assumed that the online assessment isn’t as thorough as the in-person assessment. At Colour Consult we disagree. Using the instructions given you can guarantee that the photo and therefore the result have no personal bias.  (the majority of people seem not be able to help themselves but screw up their face with certain colours – well, you can’t do that online). There will be no ‘low sun’ shining through the window, no shadows, no interior paint colours to work with. In essence it’s a very pure, non subjective analysis. Plus there’s no need to travel!

    • A photo of you with natural hair colour after the age of 21 (if you can)

    • A head shot photo in natural lighting preferably taken in front of a window, hair tied back, no camera filter or flash, no glasses, no makeup. Preferably wearing a white material draped over your top. Such as a white bed sheet or white towel.
